"Thanks
to both Ruth & Simon for such a great experience in training for
DAS. Very relaxed and made me feel comfortable from the off. Simon is a
top guy and recommended instructor"
Direct Access Training
Direct
Access training is a much higher level of riding skill compared to CBT, if you
are over the age of 21 it is carried out on a 500cc machine giving you a full
licence to ride any bike if you pass your test.
You are only permitted to ride a 500cc when accompanied by an instructor
until you pass the test. You can ride a
125cc machine unaccompanied on L plates once you have passed CBT. The training ratio will be no more than 2
students to one instructor, if you require one to one instruction there will be
an additional charge, please call for details.
If
your control of a 500cc machine is not up to the standard required (normally
dropped by the individual) the Director of Training will advise that you will
sit your test on a 125cc machine, once the test is passed you can ride any bike
up to 33BHP for 2 years and then your license can be renewed for a full license
with the DVLA without further testing.
The Director’s decision is final and gives you the best chance of
passing your test.
You
will conduct a minimum of two full days training on a 500cc machine before
taking your test. The instructor may
advise on additional training if you are not up to test standard. You cannot sit your
test unless RideSafe Training has your Theory Test
Pass number at least 10 full working days before your test. The DSA will not conduct a test without
this number. If you
require help with revision for the theory test RideSafe offer a 1 hour crammer
session for £30.00.

Test Day Administration
There
is very high demand for motorbike tests and RideSafe training will make every
attempt to book your test as close to the last day of training as
possible. If you have made your booking
well in advance this is more likely to be the case. On the day of your test, the instructor will
take you for a pre test ride, giving you the chance to practice a few slow
control exercises and give you a warm up ride before
finishing at the test centre. Remember
the test is just another ride, but with an examiner with radio contact. At the end of your test the Instructor will
brief you about the test day and will wait for you to return with the examiner.
The Instructor will be at your debrief and may recommend further training. You
will require the following for your test day:
Module 1 Specified Manoeuvres Test
1. Driving Licence (and Photo ID)
2. Your theory test certificate.
3. Your CBT certificate.
Module 2 Road Riding Test
1. Driving Licence (and Photo ID)
2. Your theory test certificate.
3. Your CBT certificate.
4. Your Module 1 Pass
Certificate
Insurance
You
are insured to ride the RideSafe bikes for all traffic accidents, however you
are not covered for the excess or any damage you do to the bike, i.e. you drop
the bike and smash an indicator. However
you can opt to pay a one off damage waiver fee for
the duration of our course, with no further cost to you if you damage the
